Who doesn’t both love and hate those long villain rants in movies where they explain their whole evil plan to the hero as well as their backstory? Here’s one with surprise twists and turns!
“It was quiet, as usual. Even my own breathing seemed to have disappeared. At least that would have been what another soul would have thought, had they laid here next to me.”
“Among the cloaked figures, a woman throws kindling at the feet of an old crone tied to the stake. A faceless Witch-Hunter, she averts her eyes from the accusatory glares, soundlessly delivers the final rites.”
“Life was quite lonely at first as a wall. Sure, I was accompanied by the specks of dust that hung tightly onto the little mishaps in the paint job, but it wasn't much. They never said anything to me, only focused on tightly holding onto me so that they wouldn't fall down to the floor. I can't quite tell how long I lived like this, nor do I really want to remember it in the first place. You know how awfully lonely being lonely can get, don't you?”
“I can’t quite place what it is about autumn that just gets to me every year. The falling leaves, the pumpkin spiced everything, or just the way nature calms down for the winter.”
Peter was staring at the movie, although he was not focusing on it at all. There were two Cassies, one on each side of him, holding him tightly. He looked down at each of their smiling faces as they watched the movie. They both looked up at him at the same time.
“A large shadow appeared on the other side of the fire. A big, black shape nearing the villagers from the forest. No one moved. The shaman stood in front of me, still holding my hand, looking at me with those eyes that could not see. The shadow in the forest got closer and closer, and then, at last, I saw him.”
That stupid fish. Why did I ever think it was a good idea to get Jason a pet? The guy was a nutcase. And I was nuts enough to be his friend. What a pair of tools.
