Scenes from the Crypt

In honor of one of my personal favorite days of the year, Halloween, I have collected four horrifying scenes that I consider to be truly memorable. So, please… Come in. Sit down. Make yourself comfortable. The lights are off. Nobody else is around. Turn up the sound… And without further ado, I present… the list.

Quick, which is more nuts, a picture of a Santa cat waving a baby Jesus cat at three kittens who are more interested in some kind of perfectly circular ham on a table in the bushes, or a vegetal fractal cat? Yeah, I don't know either.

The merciless hands spin away – fast-forwarding every minute, leaping onwards in great spurts. My awareness hangs on every second that I hear rushing past. My eyes are drawn back to the black and white pane no matter where I turn...

Recently, I had the pleasure to attend two filmed theatre pieces. One of them was filmed live from London (Rocky Horror, gasp!), but the other was just a recorded showing. When Frankenstein’s monster shouted, “Come on Frankenstein!” and disappeared into the fog, my friends and I started clapping in a relieved frenzy. This instantly aroused some snarky, supposedly-under-their-breath comments from our fellow audience members.

Such is life that the early bird gets the worm, and as a googly-eyed night owl, I have no hope gaining a coveted seat at Kaisa. Public libraries come to the rescue for students such as myself. I first came across the Kallio library in a search for an alternative study space...
