Love, Your Reflection

Love, Your Reflection

I see you coming closer
Your eyes finding mine
Then travelling lower
To that bump you try to hide

I see your mouth quirk down
Contempt plain in your eyes
Your hand on the bump now
We turn to the side

A deep breath we take
And hold it still for posture’s sake
You look at me
And still do not see

I am tired of you drifting further
And further away from my side
Every time you see me you frown deeper
I want to reach out and stop it this time

But I cannot, and it makes me a clown
For whatever you do, I must be in line
And do the same without a sound
Forever bound like this, our souls intertwine

In your eyes I see the ache
Your worries I wish I could take
Only hoping you could see
The truth when you look at me

I think we are beautiful
Wish you could see it too
