winter's breath

winter's breath

let life be a frozen river, proudly stoic with a racing soul, sweep us along, steal the breath from our lungs ever forward in a rush of ice the anxious heartbeat of the void thud thud thud existing so much you don't exist at all a super nova

let life be a gentle snowfall – larghissimo – a blink of an eye lasting an infinity as we flutter
down
         down
                  down....
we're butterflies, secrets, and other fragile things – silence, lace, ribs – words in poems

let life be a walk in the dark and dreary, our faces illuminated by the amber glow of curtainless windows, the warmth we walk towards. snow swallows the buzzing of streetlights, a silence so perfect we hear the earth breathing

inhale            inhale           inhale
           exhale          exhale           exhale
